Hello kitty, you will be missed.
The kitten has been acting like it's drunk for about a month. Taken to the vet and given a check-up. The vet...(who is fairly new at the job, just out of school) thinks it is a vitamin deficiently, and proscribes...stuff. "Feed her this, give her that, and put these in her ears twice a day."
A month later, no change. Actually, the kitten is looking more drunk, and less able to walk a straight line. So, on Tuesday morning, after watching her flop on the ground like a fish out of water for a couple of minutes, off to the vets office again. This time, we got the 35 year veteran veterinarian. He took a look into the kittens eyes, looked up and said... "She had Feline Distemper, either in fetus, or just after birth. It's messed up her nervous system and is making her unable to walk, or move correctly."
He then goes on to say something about Cerebral Holo-somethingorother...Translated into English, it means that her brain sends out a signal to her left leg, and her eyes blink. She is also in the stage where the pain is getting to her, as she mews loudly whenever she is moving.
Long story shortened, we are taking her to the vet, one last time. She won't be coming back. The roomie and I decided that we'd rather she not suffer any more pain than she already has.
